Follow these rules. If your email can be one sentence, make it one.

1. SEO your subject line. Write a succinct half sentence that covers all the core elements.
2. Rules for length are idiotic. But don’t vomit on the page and hit send. Edit.
3. Include as many forms of contact information in your signature as you feel comfortable.
4. One subject. One email. That’s it.
5. Know the reader will skim.
